MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A huge fire destroyed an apartment building in Orange Mound after someone set fire to the complex early Monday morning, the Memphis Fire Department said.
Firefighters were battling the flames just after 3 a.m. on July 22, 2024, in the 2800 block of Washington Square Drive, near Kimball Avenue and Cherokee Park.
An ABC24 crew member caught video and photos of the massive fire.
Later in the morning, a fire department spokesperson said arson caused the fire. The building was vacant, and no injuries were reported. The apartment was completely lost.
