LAKELAND, Tenn. — According to the Shelby County Fire Department (SCFD), a fire has left a home in Lakeland with significant damages.
Three people were in the house on the 6300 block of Althorp Cove when a fire broke out on Christmas Day.
Homeowners heard a pop in the attic and found smoke in the upper portion of the house a short time later, according to the fire department.
When SCFD arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire, and 30 firefighters worked tirelessly to fight the blaze, but unfortunately, the 3400 square foot house was a total loss, according to Shelby County Fire.
Firefighters said strong winds made the fire intensify quickly throughout the home.
There were no civilian of firefighter injuries, according to SCFD.
