SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Shelby County Fire Department battled a large house fire Wednesday that took nearly an hour for firefighters to put out.
According to the fire department, firefighters responded to reports of a fire on Stonington Drive in southeast Shelby County. When they arrived, they noticed heavy smoke and fire coming out of the roof.
Several engine companies responded, and firefighters needed nearly an hour to put out the flames, which the fire department said started in the attic and spread to the rest of the roof.
Shelby County said no injuries were reported. Investigators are still on scene, avoid the area for now.
