The Fitz Casino and Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi has temporarily closed down due to flooding in the area.
The Tunica Emergency Management said on Sunday the closure is because of flooding from the Mississippi River on the access road leading to the Fitz Casino.
Officials from the casino posted this statement on their social media in regards to the closure:
“As a result of the rising river water and making sure all of you and our team members are safe Tunica County has decided to close the road coming into the Fitz. This means that noon CST today we will have to close our hotel and casino. Please watch Facebook for more updates. We will be letting everyone know ASAP when we will re-open. Thank you.”
Officials say the other six casinos are still open and are operational.
The Tunica County EMA says it will monitor this situation and will give updates when available.
