Folks at the 15th annual Forgotten Souls Christmas Block Party gave back to those in need Christmas morning.
Volunteers from the House of Mtenzi spent the morning collecting and handing out personal hygiene products, pre-cooked meals, and desserts for the homeless.
“It’s all about the people. We don’t want to forget about the folks. We always say you should not be forgotten about. That’s what it’s all about, man,” says volunteer Gary Williams. “We have enough problems going on in the world, but this is what giving is all about. This is what Christmas is all about. This, right what we’re doing today.”
The House of Mtenzi aims to provide a better life for less fortunate Memphians through performing arts and events like the one they hosted Monday.
