MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- Former Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley is still keeping his promise to support the fight against the sickle cell disease in Memphis.
Conley hosted his 11th Annual Bowl N Bash at the Billy Hardwick’s All Star Bowling Lane on Saturday.
The former point guard told Local 24 News the event was a bittersweet moment for him. As he is glad to be back in the city, he says the Bowl N Bash is usually the unofficial kick-off of the Grizzlies season.
Proceeds raised from the Bowl n Bash will help improve the quality of life of sickle cell patients and their families.
Conley and his wife, Mary have contributed and helped raise one million dollars to support the Methodist Healthcare Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center.
