In Frayser, there's a new transitional home for people recently released from prison.
Memphis branch of the non-profit "Lifeline to Success" worked to hires former felons as well as graduates of their program to complete work on the home.
The new facility is said to serve as home for people on their journey back to society as well as a resource hub for the surrounding community.
"This home is going to teach them that they are important," executive director Vinessa Brown said. "They are leaders; they are kings and that's missed, so if no one else wants to say it, then we allow our graduates to share it with our newbies, Mr. Brown and I share it and all of our partners"
Since the launch of Lineline, the nonprofit has reportedly helped more than 2,000 formerly incarcerated people. The group said these people have been able to enter back into society successfully through mentorship, help with general life skills and workforce training.
