Germantown appoints Mike Fisher as new police chief

Mike Fisher had been serving as interim police chief since Sept. 30, when former police chief Richard Hall retired after 21 years of service.

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — The Germantown Board of Alderman unanimously approved Mike Fisher as the city's new police chief on Monday. 

Fisher had been serving as interim police chief since Sept. 30, when former police chief Richard Hall retired after 21 years of service. Fisher was appointed to the position by Germantown Mayor Mike Palazzolo.

A 30-year law enforcement veteran, Fisher began serving with the Germantown Police Department in 2005. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2012, working in both patrol and investigations divisions. 

In 2017, Fisher became captain and was assigned to administration and acted as the department’s public information officer. He was later promoted to inspector and then to deputy chief in 2022.

Fisher's yearly salary is set at $150,000.
