The Germantown Performing Arts Center will soon host events under the stars. Thursday, GPAC leaders announced plans to develop the Grove, an acre and a half of land just north of the performance hall.
The Grove will allow concerts inside to be aired outside, and be able to host performances and receptions. The Grove’s stage will also be built with only a minimal disruption to the tree canopy.
“We know from a lot of data and a lot history in testing that this community is really, really thirsty for an outdoor experience,” says GPAC Executive Director Paul Chandler.
GPAC leaders expect to break ground on the Grove next July, and open it in the fall of 2019.
