MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis rapper GloRilla surprised students and staff at her former middle school near Frayser Tuesday.
The Grammy-nominated artist did a special performance and donated $20,000 to Westside Middle School Tuesday morning.
GloRilla, a former student at Westside, had some words of encouragement for the current students.
"Chase your dreams. Whatever you want to do is possible. I’m living proof because I came from this exact neighborhood, this exact school,” said GloRilla.
Last year, GloRilla donated $25,000 to her former high school, MLK Prep Academy in Frayser.
