Highway 64 back open after deadly shooting, Shelby County Sheriff's Office says

Deputies with the office said they responded to an armed disturbance call in the 12000 block of the highway towards 1 p.m.

Highway 64 was down to one eastbound lane west of 385 after authorities found a dead man who had been shot in the area. It has since been opened back up to two lanes, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO).

Deputies with the office said they responded to an armed disturbance call in the 12000 block of the highway towards 1 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they found a vehicle in a wooded area next to a business that was closed, according to SCSO. In front of this business, they also found a man who was dead that had a gunshot wound.

This is an active crime scene and the investigation is ongoing, according to the SCSO as of press time.
