Hit-and-run leaves person with critical injuries, police say

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded to hit-and-run crash at Eldridge Avenue and Harrison Street on Thursday, Aug. 22.

A person was critically injured in a hit and run accident Thursday night, Aug. 22, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) says. 

Memphis police responded to hit-and-run crash at Eldridge Avenue and Harrison Street at 8:30 p.m.

A person was hit by a white, four-door sedan, as they were walking on Eldridge Avenue. Police say the victim had critical injuries and is being treated at Regional One Hospital.

The car is possibly an older model Hyundai Elantra and will have damage to the right front, according to MPD.

The car was last seen traveling east on Eldridge Avenue. 

MPD needs help identifying the responsible hit-and-run driver.

No arrests have been made. This is an ongoing investigation.
