Memphis police still searching for suspect of homicide that took place September 2023

The suspect was last seen on foot going eastbound on Boyce towards Wanda street and his vehicle was a dark-colored sedan that stopped near Wanda, MPD said.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are still looking for the suspect of a homicide they said took place in September 2023 on Boyce Avenue.

Officers said they responded shortly after 10 p.m. on Sept. 15 to the 4209 Boyce. 

They said one man was found who was a victim of this shooting. He was taken to Regional One in critical condition but pronounced dead at the hospital, according to MPD.

The suspect was wearing a face mask, according to MPD. They said he approached the victim walking east from Michael Street. He is described by MPD as being heavyset and standing at about 5 feet and 9 inches.

MPD said the suspect tried to rob the victim and shot him during the physical altercation. 

The suspect was last seen on foot going eastbound on Boyce towards Wanda street, according to MPD. His vehicle was a dark-colored sedan that stopped near Wanda, they said.

No arrest has been announced by MPD as of press time. This is an ongoing investigation, according to MPD.
