The husband of missing southeast Memphis woman Keila Freeman has now been indicted on 18 criminal counts, from arson to attempted murder, in connection with the firebombing of the home of a man prosecutors say he believed was seeing his wife.
Randall Freeman, 31, is charged with aggravated arson, attempted first-degree murder, and more. He is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $500,000 bond.
The following is from a news release from the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators said that in July of last year Freeman made threatening phone calls to the man in which he accused him of having a relationship with his wife. Soon after that the four tires of the victim’s car were slashed.
Then, on two occasions in August, Freeman allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at the man’s home on Germanshire Lane in the Hickory Ridge area, though there was little damage.
On a third occasion, however, on Sept. 4, Freeman allegedly threw another firebomb at the home, this time causing heavy damage. Five people inside the home escaped without injury.
Home-surveillance video captured images of a white Ford van, similar to one driven by Freeman, and showed a man resembling Freeman throwing the flammable objects at the house.
The grand jury indictments against Freeman include one count of aggravated arson, two counts of attempted aggravated arson, 13 counts of attempted first-degree murder, harassment and vandalism over $500.
29-year-old Keila Ashford Freeman hasn’t been seen since early September, and there have been few answers or clues to her whereabouts.
