The I-55 bridge is reportedly back open as of Sunday instead of, as previously scheduled, opening again Monday morning.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) said the bridge between West Memphis and Memphis would close at 5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 through Monday, but Nichole Lawrence of TDOT took to social media to announce that crews has completed the needed weekend work:
Two separate two-week closures of the I-55 bridge are allowed by a contract, according to TDOT. The first of those two-week closures is scheduled to begin on March 10, they said.
