MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A fast-food chicken restaurant in Memphis was robbed at gunpoint toward the end of October, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
Officers said they responded to a business robbery at Jack Pirtle's Chicken at 1217 South Bellevue Boulevard. This location is a few blocks east of the Stax Museum.
Officers said they were told that three people robbed the restaurant at gunpoint. The suspects reportedly approached an employee who was taking the trash outside, according to MPD. These suspects reportedly forced this employee back into the business at gunpoint, according to MPD.
Then, police say they were told the suspects demanded that all the other employees lay on the floor. The suspects reportedly took all the cash from the safe inside the restaurant before leaving the scene, according to MPD.
They reportedly left on foot moving southbound on South Bellevue Boulevard and were not seen in a vehicle, according to MPD.
The first suspect was between 18 and 20 years old, had a slim build, a red bandana mask, a red hoodie, dark pants and dark shows, according to MPD. He was armed with a black semi-automatic rifle, according to MPD.
The second suspect was also between 18 to 20 years old with a slim build, according to MPD. He had a black face mask, a gray hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes, according to MPD. He was also armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, according to MPD.
The third suspect was also from 18 to 20 years old with a slim build, according to MPD. He also had a black face mask, according to MPD. He also wore a black hoodie, a blue t-shirt, black pants and dark shoes, according to MPD. He was also armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, according to MPD.
No arrests have been made as of press time, according to MPD. This is an ongoing investigation, according to MPD.
