Last two-mile stretch of Greenline set for construction

A milestone for the Shelby County Greenline project. After nearly ten years of work, commissioners have approved finishing its final stretch.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A milestonefor the Shelby County Greenline project. After nearly ten years of work, commissionershave approved finishing its final stretch.

The final two-mile leg goes from just east ofthe old Cordova train depot to the east side of Lenow Road just north of MaconRoad.

The Greenline is a 10-mile paved trail forpeople to walk, jog, or bike, from midtown to Shelby Farms. It has been openingin phases since 2010.

Construction for the last phase is expected totake 18 months, with an opening in spring of 2021.
