Lauderdale County under boil water alert until further notice

County officials issued the alert on Thursday, Jan. 18.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Tenn — On Thursday, Lauderdale County officials announced a boil water alert 'until further notice.'

Officials said the alert is due to the high demand for water during the past few days and decreased water pressure. Those included in the alert are the Conner Whitefield, Durhamville and Hobe Webb areas.

Residents are asked to check their meters for leaks. If leaks are found, they should turn the water off until needed repairs are made.

On Sunday, Jan. 21, officials said water and pressure have been restored to most areas on their system. If residents don't have water or pressure, they should check their meter and see if pipes are frozen. There is no need to leave water running since temperatures are above freezing.

Officials also said Sunday that customers in the Burks and Wadsworth Road areas need to conserve water and look for leaks because there is still high water usage in these areas.

Lauderdale County Water System will supply bottled water to those in areas affected by loss of water. It can be picked up at the Water Department at 551 Central Curve Road until another location can be set up, according to officials.

If you are unable to pick it up due to emergency circumstances or a disability, the Lauderdale County Water System asks you to call 731-460-2854.

Due to the high demand for water during the past few days and decreased water pressure, you will need to boil water until further notice. This is for all customers on Lauderdale County Water System.
