MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery honored all fathers, both past and present, Sunday.
Guests were asked to write a note or prayer, light a candle or enjoy peaceful reflections for Father’s Day.
Organizers say that writing a message to a loved one allows people to express themselves in a thoughtful way. It can also be a special moment for those who’ve lost their fathers.
“Those that work in the funeral/cemetery industry know that moms get a lot of attention, and probably Mother’s Day is our most visited day in the park. But fathers sometimes get overlooked, and we just wanted folks to have a very easy way to come out and pay tribute to a dad or grandfather that they’ve lost,” said Wade Key of The Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
All messages written and left at Memorial Park were collected and placed in a box will be buried in God’s Garden.
