Patrick “Trey” Carter III is the next big thing. Local 24 Anchor Katina Rankin explains in local good news.
Local businessman, Patrick Trey Carter III, has been named one of the Top 35 Millennial Influencers in the country by The Next Big Thing Movement. The Next Big Thing Movement is a global, non-profit organization that supports and recognizes millennials who are change agents and difference makers. Carter was the only Memphian and Tennessean to be included on the 2018 list, and he was recently honored at the Forward Conference in New York City.
“Memphis is number two in the world, number one in the United States when it comes to logistics and distribution,” said Carter.
Carter is president of Olympic Career Training Institute, or OCTI.
“We train individuals from how to use heavy machinery like forklifts and power industrial trucks,” said Carter. “We want to make sure if someone may not have a college degree you can be successful in the field of logistics, which is our largest industry in the city.”
In addition to Carter, the 2018 Class of Top 35 Millennials included the Teen Vogue Editor, The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah, and Political Strategist Symone Sanders.
“It’s always feels good to put a bright spot on Memphis and what Tennessee is doing,” said Carter.
It’s local good news.
