Several locations have had at least one reported death and injuries. Thursday, Gregory Emary from Hernando was one of those confirmed dead at the Chickasaw County location. Also Thursday, a fire was reported at the penitentiary in Parchman after another inmate was killed.

It started with a deadly riot at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution.

Inmate visitations at all Mississippi prisons have been cancelled for this weekend.
