MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his pregnant ex-girlfriend 10 times, as stated in the affidavit.

Deandre Wilkins, 35, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, and one count of domestic assault.

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded to a call reporting injuries in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Havana Street at 8:40 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.

Officers found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times at the scene. The victim was taken to Regional One Health, says MPD.

The victim provided a statement to police at the hospital, saying she was walking with friends when her ex-boyfriend, Deandre Wilkins, showed up and started punching her in the face. According to the affidavit, Wilkins pulled out a kitchen knife and started stabbing the victim.

Wilkins allegedly kept telling the victim " I told you I was gonna get you" while he stabbed her, approximately 10 times.

The victim positively identified Wilkins in a photo.

The affidavit states that the victim and Wilkins were in a yearlong relationship until a few months ago. They have known each other since childhood, and the victim is currently pregnant with Wilkin's child.
