MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man tried to rob a Wells Fargo bank in Memphis on Feb. 16, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
Officers said they responded to a hold-up alarm at 1365 North Germantown Parkway at the Wells Fargo Bank. Officers said they were told when they got to this location that a man yelled "This is a robbery" while pointing a handgun at employees and customers in the bank.
The employees ran to the office immediately and the suspect ran away, according to MPD. Officers said they were given a description of the man and were told that he ran eastbound across Germantown Parkway.
A black handgun was found in a white bag with blue writing stuffed into a heavy-duty trash bag in the area of 1808 Country Village — in the backyard of a house near a doghouse, according to MPD.
Dedrick Taylor was found by police in front of 1250 North Germantown at Kooky Canuck restaurant, according to MPD. He was charged with attempted aggravated robbery.
