Holly Springs mayor responds to the death of a city utility worker in Marshall County while restoring power

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office confirmed a Holly Springs Utility worker was electrocuted while working to restore power Tuesday.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Mississippi — The Marshall County Sheriff's Office confirmed a utility worker was electrocuted while working to restore power near Taska & Mt. Pleasant Roads in Marshall County, Mississippi, some time around noon Tuesday.

That utility worker, Henry Watson, was pronounced dead.

the City of Holly Springs confirmed Watson worked for the Holly Springs Utility Department.

"The City of Holly Springs extends its condolences to the family of Mr. Henry Watson," Holly Springs Mayor Sharon Gipson said in a statement. "Mr. Watson was a dedicated, dependable and kind person whose beautiful personality will truly be missed. We are praying for Mr. Watson's family and ask for your prayers for his family, our employees and the City of Holly Springs during this difficult time."

City officials have not yet released details as to the nature of this incident, citing an ongoing investigation into the matter.
