MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have released video of a woman they said assaulted and robbed MATA supervisor outside a midtown bus.

It happened on Madison Ave. and N Evergreen St. at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024.

Memphis Police said a MATA supervisor had responded to the scene prior to officers arriving, because an "unruly" passenger refused to get off the bus.

MPD investigators said when the supervisor got off the bus and was getting into his car, the female passenger attacked the manager. Police said the two fought and bystanders separated them.

Investigators said that's when the woman jumped into the supervisor's white 2019 Chevrolet Traverse with Tennessee license plate 4845GF. Investigators said the woman threw the supervisor's phone out the window as she drove off.

The suspect is described as about 5’10” tall weighing about 170 lbs., with blue hair, according to MATA.

As of Oct. 14, police have not said if the stolen vehicle had been located.

Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect is asked to call MATA’s safety and security specialist at 901-413-7570 or Memphis CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
