People who have criminal records could get a second chance by get their records wiped clean.

It is called expungement.

Monday a meeting at the Benjamin Hooks Library detailed how removing convictions can help people get jobs, and even restore voting rights.

The expungement fee is $280.

A fundraising campaign, led by Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, raised at least $50,000 to pay that fee for people who qualify.
