MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Jackson Police Department that happened on Sept. 8, 2024.
Officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to a call near Jamestown Way.
Upon arrival, an officer was walking towards the scene when the involved suspect tried hitting the officer with his car.
The officer discharged his weapon and hit the suspect causing non-life-threatening injuries.
The officer did not receive serious physical injuries.

MBI is currently assessing this incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General's Office.
