MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said the Medical Examiner is investigating after a bone was found near a construction site near St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
MPD responded to a call just after 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Lane Ave. and St. Jude Place, just east of Danny Thomas Blvd. They said a bone was found and the Medical Examiner was called in to check it out.
Investigators said they have not yet determined if the bone is human, but MPD said there is information that the area may have been a burial site in the past.
Police said this is not being investigated as a homicide.
