MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Cheesecake Factory restaurant at Wolfchase Galleria is set to close down, management of the Memphis location confirms.
After July 14, Memphians will no longer be able to eat at the restaurant, according to manager Jennifer Madrigao.
"We just hope the staff members who have been there a long time are able to find something," Madrigao said. "A place like Cheesecake Factory relocates management, but as far as veteran staff — not everyone is able to relocate."
Madrigao said she was originally relocated to the Memphis location from Texas.
"'Memphis' was an absolute journey altogether," Madrigao said. "I've grown to love the staff. We've made a lot of changes. We put a lot of time and work [into the restaurant]."
The Memphis location opened to great fanfare in 2015.
The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated released the following statement regarding the closure:
“After extensive review and analysis, the company made the difficult decision to discontinue operation of our restaurant in Memphis. Our last day of service will be July 14, 2024. We are working with our staff to help transition them to other opportunities, including transfers to our restaurants in other areas. We have enjoyed being a part of the Memphis community over the last nine years and would like to thank our guests for their patronage.” — Alethea Rowe, senior director of public relations and global branding.
