MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Housing Authority (MHA) is opening several Public Housing, site-based waitlists to qualified applicants starting Monday, Nov. 18.

Public housing serves to supply safe rental housing for qualified, low-income families, the elderly and people with disabilities.

Those who are eligible can sign up online between Nov. 18 at 8 a.m. and Nov. 20 at noon. MHA clarified that applying does not ensures one's placement on waitlist and results in a housing assistance offer. Instead, they will be placed on the waitlist via a random selection process.

Interested residents are allowed submit waitlist applications for multiple sites. Those on the Housing Choice Voucher Program waitlist can apply as well. Qualifications vary between the program, so be sure to check the qualifications.
