The Memphis music world is mourning the loss of a Beale Street pioneer. The family of acclaimed blues musician Papa Don McMinn confirmed to CW 30 that he died this morning. He is credited with the re-birth of blues on Beale Street. He played guitar and sang at Rum Boogie since the mid-80s. In 2011, he formed “The Three Generations Blues Band” with his children and grandson.
