The Memphis Police Department officer identified as the one who shot and critically injured Martavious Banks last year is now off the force.
Jamarcus Jeames resigned from the MPD February 15, before his administrative hearing was over.
According to the MPD, after an investigation it was determined that Jeames and two other officers violated Memphis Police Department’s policies and procedures during the officer-involved shooting in the 1200 block of Gill September 17, 2018.
Police say that former officer Jeames violated several department policies and procedures dealing with traffic, radio procedures, police vehicle operation/pursuit, and body-worn cameras.
