MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced the Driver Services and Reinstatement Center on Summer Ave. in Memphis is closing until 2025 for remodeling.
The center is located at 5266 Summer Ave. Suite 75. It will close on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, and reopen in January 2025.
Anyone needing services can go to nearby Driver Service Centers, the Shelby County Clerk’s Office, self-service kiosks, or find online services at tn.gov/safety/driver-services/online.html.
Transactions available at the Shelby County Clerk or self-service kiosks include renewing an enhanced handgun carry permit, ordering a duplicate enhanced, lifetime, or concealed handgun carry permit, and upgrading to a lifetime handgun carry permit. People can also pay full reinstatement fees, get a reissued drivers license after reinstatement, add emergency contacts, update, replace or renew a regular driver's license, change an address, register to vote, or advance a graduated driver’s license.
Kiosks only accept credit or debit card payments.
