MHP investigates fatal Desoto County crash on I-22

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people are dead after a multi-car crash on Interstate 22 in Desoto County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP).

MHP responded to a fatal car crash on I-22 in Desoto County just after 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The crash involved three cars: a 2006 Toyota Camry, a 2022 Toyota 4Runner and a 2025 Freightliner, all traveling west on I-22.

The Camry first crashed into the Freightliner and then into the 4Runner.

The drivers of the Freightliner and 4Runner were not injured and were released on the scene, says MHP.

However, the driver and passenger from the Camry suffered from fatal injuries and were pronounced dead on the scene.

MHP is continuing its investigation into the crash.
