On Sunday, a woman that had been missing in Memphis was been found dead on the side of Interstate 22, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

Memphis Police released a city watch alert for 30-year-old Kelly Sistrunk on Saturday, Feb. 3, who had reportedly been missing for six days at that point.

MPD previously posted about her as a missing person on Feb. 1. In that post, MPD said she had been missing since Jan. 28.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said that Sistrunk was the woman that they found and that they were "investigating a homicide."

On Monday, MPD cancelled their city watch alert, saying that Sistrunk had been located.

MPD said that they are working with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office but that the Marshall County Sheriff's Office were the lead on the investigation.

This is a developing story. ABC24 will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
