MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As Memphis Light, Gas and Water asks customers to help shape the future for the utility, the company said it will postpone upcoming community workshops.
MLGW said in February it would host several community workshops, asking customers for their input on how the utility can move forward over the next two decades.
The utility said leaders have been on their listening tour and held 10 workshops, but have now decided to dedicate "all resources to resolving delayed billing and meter issues." They said MLGW 2045 is still a priority, and the new timeline for completion of the plan is December 2025 instead of December 2024.
The following workshops are postponed:
- April 11
- Raleigh Community Center, 3678 Powers Rd.
- April 16
- Gaisman Community Center, 4221 Macon Rd.
- April 18
- Gaston Community Center 1048 S. Third St.
- April 25
- Bert Ferguson Community Center, 8505 Trinity Rd.
- April 30
- Lucius E. & Elsie C. Burch Jr. Library, 501 Poplar View Pkwy.
MLGW also asked those who can’t attend to take an online survey at https://www.mlgw.com/2045.
