MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police department (MPD) said that they responded to four separate car crashes over a timespan of two days. Two people have been confirmed by MPD to be dead.
MPD reported that on Friday, Nov. 17 officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the area of I-55 and Brooks Road to a two-vehicle accident.
Officers said they found one victim who was transported to Regional One in critical condition.
Police said that this is an ongoing investigation.
Officers said they responded to another crash on Central Avenue and Zach Curlin Street on Friday night. Officers reportedly responded shortly before midnight to find a victim who was a pedestrian who had been struck by a car.
This person was found to be dead on the scene, according to MPD. The driver in this incident remained on the scene, according to MPD.
Officers said they responded to another wreck that took place toward 1 a.m. Saturday in the area of Central Avenue and Hollywood Street.
This was in response to a hit-and-run where a pedestrian was struck, according to MPD. The victim was seen to be dead on the scene, according to MPD.
Police said that this is also an ongoing investigation.
At 3 a.m. Saturday, MPD responded to another accident, police said. This was a four-vehicle accident in the area of I-240 and Poplar Avenue, according to MPD.
Three victims were transported to area hospitals, and one person was put in critical condition, according to MPD.
