An Memphis Police officer was killed Jan. 20, 2022 after a crash at the intersection of East Shelby Drive and Pleasant Hill Road, according to the Memphis Police Association.
Officer CJ Jones was responding to a call when a vehicle collided with his patrol car, according to the association. This took place at about 2:30 a.m., they said.
The driver of the car that collided with the patrol car died in the crash, according to the Memphis Police Association. Officer Jones was transported to a local hospital but died later, according to the association.
Jones had served with Memphis Police for nearly two years, according to the association. He is survived by two children, they said.
