MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – We now know just how much it cost Memphis Police in overtime during the protests in Frayser this summer.
The city of Memphis revealed that between June 12th and 16th,the city spent more than $745,000 in overtime. This happened after the fatal U.S.Marshal shooting of 20-year-old Brandon Webber in Frayser.
Webber was wanted for a violent carjacking in Desoto County andwas killed during the arrest.
That lead to violent protests, including bricks and rocks beingthrown at officers in riot gear.
36 officers were injured.
After that, all officers were called in for patrols with twoofficers per vehicle during the following five days.
