MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis-Shelby County Schools said they will ease 6th graders and 9th graders in to the new school year by placing them in transition camps.
The district said the transition camps will create a “seamless” introduction into a new learning environment, as 6th and 9th grade students enter middle and high school.
Organizers said the goal is to get students used to things like finding their lockers, going class to class, and easing any anxieties they have as they get ready for their new schools.
The first day back to school for MSCS students is August 8.
