MEMPHIS, Tenn. — MSCS Legacy University will hold an online event "PowerSchool Support for Families" from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. today, August 15.

PowerSchool is the student information system for Shelby County Schools.

A PowerSchool account is required to be enrolled in school, but it also gives parents easy access to other important processes and student information.

At this online event, families will learn to navigate the parent portal to explore student data including grades, attendance, teachers, contact information, and report cards.

For more information on the event you can visit the MSCS website.

MSCS wants all students to succeed in the classroom and the most important step is showing up.

"Miss school, miss out!"

The chronic absenteeism rate is approximately 50% amongst our state-run schools, 29% in Metro-Nashville and Fayette, 27% in Tipton County Schools, 28% in Knox County, and approximately 26% in MSCS District-managed and charter-managed schools.

Starting this school year, MSCS parents can report absences through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
