MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)-The Downtown Memphis Commissioncelebrated Summer babies Saturday.
It was the Summer edition of its big birthday bash, where anyonewho had or has a Summer birthday could come out and enjoy free activities allday long at Mud Island River Park.
Everything from splash pads, to water slides to bounce houses wereavailable for families to enjoy.
“This year we thought why not make it everybody’s party, if notmake an event where every mom can say yes baby, this is your party…go jump,go play, go get free face painting,” said Penelope Houston, VP of Marketing forDowntown Memphis Commission. “So, we were able to do that today so far wehave about 500 kids that we’ve wrist banded for free for this event.
Also, at the event, Neighborhood Heroes is Memphis hosted itsfirst Superhero Training Day. Where organizers use a comic book model tomentor children. They also gave it free costumes and comic books.
