COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – We are learning more about the man killed by Collierville Police Monday. The police report now reveals the events leading up to the deadly shooting.
According to the report, officers were called to the couple’s home the night before.
David Hoal’s wife told officers he was stressed because they were moving to Pensacola. Florida. Police said he also threatened to kill himself two years ago when he was laid off from his job.
Mrs. Hoal said her husband was seeing a family doctor for depression but refused to see a psychologist.
Monday morning, police were called back to the home due to suicidal threats.
The TBI is now trying to figure out what led officers to open fire.
