MEMPHIS, Tenn. — New signs warning of the dangers of drowning in the Mississippi River are now posted along the river.
The Shelby County Sheriff's Office installed the signs near the Shelby Forest boat ramp Thursday morning.
The signs are in both English and Spanish, warning of the dangerous currents and how the sandbars can be swept away without warning.
The new signs come after three people drowned in the Mississippi River within the last two weeks.
