FedEx & Operation Warm team up to make sure Brewster Elementary students stay warm this winter

Volunteers delivered 500 new winter coats at Brewster Elementary in Binghampton Thursday.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The blast of cold weather has hit the Mid-South, and there are children who need help staying warm.

Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, FedEx and the non-profit 'Operation Warm' stepped up, with volunteers delivering 500 new winter coats at Brewster Elementary in Binghampton.

By the end of the year, Operation Warm plans to hold more than 40 events in the U.S., Canada, and other countries around the world.

Brewster principal Martha Mason expressed her gratitude for how coats for her students can relieve their stress and enhance their achievement in the classroom.

"I think the public private partnership is truly one that is really going to take us over the hump in literacy and education as a whole,” said Mason. “The old adage, together, everyone achieves more and together we can truly achieve more."

FedEx has collaborated with Operation Warm since 2008.
