MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The parent of a child that died from drowning at a hotel in Cordova is now reportedly seeking justice through a law firm as they seek to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.
Daniel, Williams & Associates, PLLC said they are representing Julius Thedford after the tragic drowning of Dior Thedford at Comfort Suites on Germantown Parkway on June 27.
The original call came out just after midnight, and the Memphis Police Department responded to the hotel located at 2427 Germantown Parkway regarding a medical call indicating that a 4-year-old girl had fallen into a swimming pool.
ABC24 crews saw the Memphis Fire Department leaving with the toddler in an ambulance to be taken to the hospital.
The 4-year-old was then pronounced dead, according to Memphis Police. Memphis Police said the investigation is ongoing.
"I am truly devastated by the loss of my precious baby, Dior," Julius Thedford said. "We are seeking answers and justice to ensure that no other family has to go through this unimaginable pain."
Julius Thedford has reportedly retained Daniel, Williams & Associates, PLLC to investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning and to hold any responsible parties accountable.
"I will do everything in my power to honor Dior’s memory and to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future," Julius Thedford said.
