Sherrie Daly, the former wife of pro golfer John Daly, is scheduled to appear before a judge Wednesday morning in connection to her latest arrest. Daly is in jail on a million dollars bond.
This time she is facing charges for custodial interference and violating her probation in connection to an unrelated domestic assault case. Daly’s parents wonder why their daughter is in jail on such a huge bond.
It’s just the latest in her long list of run ins with the law.
When reporter Jeni Diprizio asked Daly’s mother, Billie Miller, if she could make the bail money, she responded, “Somebody is making it for her.”
Police charged Daly with custodial interference after the child’s father reported to police he had not heard from his son since the teen left for school on December 18th.
The Millers say the 16-year-old was at their house and that they picked up their grandson.
“It’s just comical. It is so stupid,” said Miller.
“She didn’t get the kid. Me and Billie got the kid out here for his birthday party at my house. And I don’t have to ask if I can get the kid. I raised this kid,” said Alvis Miller, Daly’s father.
According to police records, Daly lost custody of her son in November after she was arrested for an unrelated domestic assault charge.
Records also show on December 19th, Marshall County Sheriff”s deputies went to the grandparents house to check on the teen and said he was in good health.
The same day, Daly allegedly called the child’s father, said she had him and “F” the court order.
The teen was returned to his father on December 31st.
“It makes me feel bad for Sherrie. You couldn’t ask for a nicer person, that Sherrie. She would give you the shirt off her back,” said Billie Miller.
Police say this latest situation violated probation in connection to her November domestic assault arrest when she hit a former boyfriend with a golf club.
Daly’s mom says the million dollar bond is too harsh.
“I think it’s the stupidist thing I’ve heard of. They don’t even do that to people that murder people.”
