MEMPHIS, Tenn. — According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), a man is dead after being hit by a car in Downtown Memphis on Wednesday.
Around 7:45 p.m., MPD responded to a pedestrian crash at Union and Danny Thomas, police said.
A man was hit by a car. He was taken to Regional One in critical condition but did not survive, according to MPD.
The responsible driver stayed on the scene, police said. They also said the pedestrian was walking in the roadway.
Officers are asking people to avoid the area as they investigate.
