MEMPHIS, Tenn. — PANTHERx Rare is opening a new dispensing site in Collierville.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart McWhorter announced the plans Wednesday with pharmacy officials.
PATHERx is a specialty pharmacy purely focused on rare and orphan diseases, distributing several orphan products and providing access and support services
The announcement came with news that the pharmacy company will house 120 new jobs in the area when completed, increasing the company workforce by 20 percent.
“Tennessee continues to be a hub for budding businesses, particularly in the healthcare industry," Gov. Lee said in a release. "I’m grateful to PANTHERx Rare’s leadership for creating 120 new jobs for the skilled workforce across Collierville and Shelby County, which will further the economic prosperity experienced across this region.”
The release said wages will be above the Shelby County median.
