MEMPHIS, Tenn — A police chase on Friday night lead to a crash, according to Memphis authorities.
Memphis Police said that the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on March 15 at Danny Thomas Boulevard and Poplar Avenue.
A Dodge Charger was traveling south on North Danny Thomas while evading police, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
The driver of this car tried to turn right to go west on Poplar but lost control, striking a light pole, they said. The driver ran away from the crash on foot but police said they caught them a short time later.
No police vehicle made contact with any other vehicle during this incident, according to MPD.
The driver was arrested and taken to Regional One hospital to be cleared for transport to 201 Poplar with numerous warrants and charges, according to MPD.
